Would you like to be more confident in assessing a patient who may have papilloedema? This workshop will deliver a sound knowledge of the investigative techniques at your disposal.
“This will discuss the presenting signs & symptoms that a patient may present to you on your pre-reg practice. Lorcan will discuss the use of investigative techniques and show examples of images from Digital Retinal Photograph, Visual Fields, OCT. If you don’t have an OCT don’t worry there will be plenty of information on this condition that does not require OCT interpretation. The most important part of this training is a thorough History & Symptoms. Lorcan will give you numerous Clinical Pearls and take-home messages that you may not find in the text books, but have come directly from Ophthalmologists that Lorcan has done this presentation with“

FAQs:
Is this just going to be lecture like uni?
No. This is focused on streamlining your routine, your investigative questions, your technique, your data interpretation, and your decision-making. You are encouraged to take your own notes, and ask for clarification on any points.
Is it a different topic each week?
Yes, a new topic with a different expert.
Do I need to have my camera on?
We prefer if you have your camera on. This is an INTERACTIVE workshop; and the job of an Optometrist involves interacting with the patients that we care for. If you’re naturally a shy person, then as the weeks go on, you’ll grow in confidence.
If I’ve missed a previous Weekly Workshop, can I still attend further sessions?
Absolutely! Each workshop will run as an individual, free-standing session. Sessions are not pre-recorded
Does it matter what stage of Pre-Reg I am up to?
No. These workshops are aimed at ALL stages of qualification. Even if you’re qualified and want to brush up on key skills, then you’re welcome to attend. The skills and competencies covered will encompass Stage 1, Stage 2 and the OSCEs.
